Good News for DCO patients!
For the second year in a row, Daly City Optometry has achieved a "Premier Practice" designation by Vision Service Plan (VSP).
In order to receive this recognition, a practice needs to demonstrate the following:
- The practice must carry in its inventory a wide variety of high quality featured frames* and sunglasses.
- The practice must utilize the industry's highest quality lens materials and products.
- The doctors must demonstrate certain aspects of high quality Eye Health Management. These aspects include internal processes that may affect quality of care for each patient - such as Electronic Health Record capability. Additionally, the doctors must show a degree of external coordination of care with other providers of a patient's care team - like a Primary Care Provider, for instance.
- The practice must be able to offer superior technology to its patients; e.g. Digital Retinal Imaging.
According to the Director of Operations, Joe Respicio, Daly City Optometry was one of only 9 practices in the Bay Area to achieve full "Premier" status when the program launched in 2015.
How is this good for our patients?
Firstly, going to a Premier practice means you're going to an Optometry office that has passed a wide variety of stringent criteria to achieve "Premier" status.
Secondly, when you purchase frames at a Premier practice, you will receive an extra $20 to use with your frame allowance to lessen your out-of-pocket expenses.
Also, as a Premier practice Daly City Optometry offers The Eyewear Protection Program. It is a worry-free warranty that replaces featured frames* free of charge if you accidentally break or damage your glasses within the first 12 months after purchase. Big feeling of security knowing that you're covered if your glasses are damaged!
*Featured frames are from the following designers/manufacturers . . . . Airlock, Altair, Anne Klein, bebe, Calvin Klein Collection, Calvin Klein, Chloe, Dianne von Furstenberg, Dragon, Flexon, G-STAR RAW, JOE Joseph Abboud, Karl Lagerfeld, LaCoste, Marchon NYC, Nautica, Nike, Otis & Piper, Salvatore Ferragamo, Sean John, Sight for Students, Skaga, Tommy Bahama, Valentino, X Games.
