S. Gabriel Respicio, O.D.
A graduate of UC Berkeley School of Optometry Dr. "Respicio" - latin for "I look upon" - began his career at Kaiser
Permanente in Vallejo, California. Wanting to explore the possibilities private practice had to offer, he became a part-time associate of Dr. Paz at Daly City Optometry (DCO) in 1996. One year later, the two doctors formed the DCO partnership. They first worked together during a VOSH mission in 1989.
Dr. Respicio participated and co-authored contact lens related studies in Optometric journals and texts. His doctorate thesis centered on Sports Vision which gave him the opportunity to work with the CAL baseball and softball teams. He is a member of the California and American Optometric Associations and is TPA certified to treat certain eye diseases.
Recently, he added Low Vision services to his practice in which devices such as magnifiers, filters, and telescopic devices are prescribed to help those with vision loss due to diabetes, macular degeneration, cataracts and glaucoma.
Dr. Respicio has worked with the Bay Area's premier LASIK surgeons. If you're not sure about the Bay Area's LASIK scene, Dr. Respicio IS! Having co-managed hundreds of patients, he has the experience to guide you through the process.
